BALPPA secures cut in VAT
BALPPA is pleased to confirm that we have secured a significant concession on the 20 per cent VAT that was to be imposed on static caravans in the spring budget.
Following extensive and co-ordinated lobbying by BALPPA and other organisations, that identified the risks to jobs and our members' businesses that this additional taxation measure would generate, the Chancellor announced yesterday that he had reconsidered his proposals and would now be proposing a 5 per cent rate to the House upon its return next month.
"Lobbying can be a long term process, so it is especially pleasing to achieve such a significant positive result for our members in such a short time period," said Jeremy Reed, BALPPA chief executive. "BALPPA will continue to support the interests of our members and their businesses in these challenging trading times."
