The newly established Family Entertainment Centre group at BALPPA is delighted to announce the agenda and location of its inaugural seminar event which will take place on Tuesday 14th May at Alton Towers Resort in Staffordshire.

The FEC group within BALPPA formed at the start of 2013 and already has over 75 member sites. A fantastic fellow BALPPA Member has been confirmed to host this first event, with the seminar day to take place in the Emperors Suite at Alton Towers Resort; the UK's number one theme park.

The highly topical theme of the seminar day is "Cost Management" and three presentations will be made on the following topics: "Effective procurement in austere times", "Using management accounts to improve cash flow" and "It’s a steal- preventing theft in your business".

An open forum discussion will take place after the seminars with the opportunity after the networking lunch to take in a behind the scenes tour of the theme park.

The FEC seminar event is FREE to all BALPPA Members and is expected to be very popular. Non-Members are also able to attend the day for a nominal £15 charge per person which will be deducted from your BALPPA Membership fee if you decide to join the association.

Speaking about the inaugural FEC event in May, Janice Dunphy who heads up the FEC sub-committee of BALPPA, commented: "We are really excited to be holding our first event at such a high profile venue and I myself certainly can't wait to learn more about the Alton Towers operation and how their processes and systems can aid our sector. Additionally, in the current economic climate whereby managing costs is so important to the success of businesses in the indoor play sector, the seminar line up will no doubt provide many ideas and facilitate some great discussions with fellow operators which really is the true value of BALPPA membership".

For more information about attending the FEC Cost Management Seminar on Tuesday 14th May, please download the agenda and confirm your attendance to Kate Costin (FEC Consultant – BALPPA) on [email protected].

Should you have any queries, please contact Kate via email or by calling 0207 403 4455.
