North Lincolnshire Council (NLC) has launched a new BMX track at Sheffield Park in Scunthorpe, as part of a partnership with international BMX rider Mark Harrison.
The council provided the new equipment, materials and land, while Harrison - who is from Scunthorpe - designed and built the new track.
Councillor Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for customer services, said: "BMX riding is a rapidly growing sport and there is a shortage of quality BMX tracks throughout the country.
"In this Olympic year, thanks to the dedicated work Mark and his team, and the council put in, Sheffield Park now provides a much needed venue for young BMX riders in Scunthorpe and the surrounding area."
