BSLT facilities recognised for safety
All eight sports and leisure facilities managed by Borders Sport and Leisure Trust (BSLT) have been recognised for their high level of operational safety standards.
The trust's six swimming pools have been awarded the Institute of Sport and Recreation Management's (ISRM) National Pool Safety Award (NPSA) while its two dry centres have achieved the equivalent QLM Leisuresafe Award.
Only one of the trust's facilities, Kelso Swimming pool, had achieved the award previously, in 2007, when it was one of only 30 such centres in the UK to hold it.
Duncan Sinclair, facilities manager for BSLT, said: "The ISRM National Pool Safety Award and QLM's Leisuresafe have a very rigorous assessment process taking in all operational aspects of the centre, from management of information to the management of services and facilities.
"All of BSLT's centres are now part of an elite group of leisure facilities which have achieved these awards, which shows BSLT's full commitment to the safety of our customers."
