Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre has reopened following a £100,000 gym revamp. The project is part of a programme to raise the standard of leisure facilities managed by operator South Ribble Community Leisure.

The 61-station gym was replaced and upgraded to 65 pieces of equipment via a partnership with Pulse Fitness. The gym also features new management software called Smart Centre, an electronic personal work out system.

Other community leisure facilities which could undergo future improvements include Leyland Leisure Centre, Penwortham Leisure Centre and South Ribble Tennis and Fitness Centre.
