Banyan Tree Spa Academy has garnered the Pacific Asia Travel Association's (PATA) Grand Award in Education and Training.
The accolade is presented to industry stakeholders that have made outstanding contributions to the development and promotion of travel and tourism across the Asia Pacific region in a responsible and sustainable manner.
Ravi Chandran, Managing Director of Banyan Tree Spa, said: "This award is a testimony of Banyan Tree Spa's core focus on the rigorous training and development of our spa therapists at Banyan Tree Spa Academies in Phuket (Thailand), Lijiang (China) and Bintan (Indonesia)."
The Banyan Tree Spa Academy has trained more than 1,000 therapists for the Banyan Tree spas and sister brand, Angsana Spa.
It actively functions to identify international trends, develop experienced trainers, and carry out research and development for new treatments, recipes, techniques and products, in order to maintain its leadership position in the spa industry and to meet the demands of its rapid worldwide expansion plans.
