World Cup Barbados is to redevelop its Kensington Oval ground as part of its bid to host some of the key matches in the ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007.

To help with the bid, WCB has appointed UK-based sports and leisure consultancy PMP, which will be working on the feasibility and business planning for the redevelopment of the Oval, together with an assessment of the economic impact the World Cup will have on both tourism and inward investment in the country, before, during and after the event.

PMP will be working on the project alongside Arup and Davis Langdon Everest.

WCB CEO, Stephen Alleyne, said: “This would be the most important sporting event ever to come to Barbados and we look forward to a lasting beneficial legacy for cricket tourism, infrastructure and service delivery.
