Bath Uni selected as 2012 base for Paralympians
The University of Bath has been selected to house Britain's paralympians during the squad's pre-2012 games camps.
Bath's duties as host will begin later this year when the first batch of young hopefuls will use the facilities for training, which will then be followed up in 2010-11 by a number of large-scale, multi-sport camp.
The University facilities include four tennis courts, a multi purpose artifical sports pitch, a competition standard athletics track, a 50m pool and an indoor athletics pitch.
Penny Briscoe, performance director of Paralympics GB, said: "The Bath bid stood out not just because of the facilities on offer, but also because of their desire to partner with us across a wide range of our operations from talent identification, sports science and medicine and coaching."
