Battlefield Sports launches new technology
Live action combat simulation company Battlefield Sports has unveiled its new small arms transmitter receiver (S*A*T*R), claimed to give real-time statistical feedback.
Eliminating the need for a central computer system, the new technology – showcased at LIW – is designed to allow the game to be completely portable and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
The game itself uses guns that shoot infrared 'bullets' over a distance as far as 450m in daylight, with gamers informed of hits and misses via voice feedback on their weapon.
The game was originally developed in Australia and is now played in more than 30 countries.
