'Beacon' status for Warrington tennis facility
Birchwood Leisure and Tennis Complex in Warrington has been awarded "Beacon" status by the Tennis Foundation, which recognises the venue's community programmes.
Sites that receive "Beacon" status are required to offer access to inclusive tennis, as well as affordable coaching and regular competitions to players of all ages and abilities.
The courts at Birchwood Leisure and Tennis Complex have recently undergone an upgrade to enable members of the community to participate in tennis all year round.
Warrington Borough Council's Kate Hannon said: "We are very proud to be recognised by the Tennis Foundation as a facility that offers the local community access to free tennis plus quality, affordable coaching for all ages and abilities."
