Beard appointed for Bath Post Office revamp
Swindon, UK-based construction company Beard has been appointed to the Bath Post Office redevelopment.
The scheme is being financed by the Imperial Tobacco Pension Fund and overseen by Future Heritage, which developed the concept for the conversion in partnership with Frogmore Property.
The mixed-use redevelopment of the 1920s listed building and neighbouring listed Georgian properties is intended to revitalise Bath’s Northgate Street area.
It will include the construction of 10 apartments and a new home for the Bath Postal Museum.
The buildings, which are on a freehold contract with Bath & North East Somerset Council, will be externally restored with the museum rehoused in the lower ground floor of the building, sharing an entrance from Green Street with the new Post Office. Details: www.beard-construction.co.uk
