Beatles hotel to open in January
A Beatles-themed boutique hotel is set to open in Liverpool in time for the city’s tenure as the 2008 European Capital of Culture.
The 110-room, Grade II-listed Hard Days Night Hotel will be located on Mathew Street close to the Cavern Club from where the Beatles first rose to prominence.
The £20m development will include commissioned artwork by famous Beatles artist Shannon adorning the walls of the hotel, as well as two specially designed suites. The Lennon and McCartney suites will mirror the two most famous Beatles in their design, with the Lennon room featuring a white grand piano.
Facilities at the hotel also include two restaurants, The Brasserie and Blakes, and two bars, Hari’s and Bar Four.
Trevor Lynn, spokesperson for Hard Days Night, said: “The city of Liverpool is steeped in Beatles history and with the help of Shannon’s artwork, we believe that the hotel is a perfect addition.”
The hotel, which was project managed by Bowdena, will be operated by Hospitality Management International, which has signed a five-year management contract.
Mike Dewey has been appointed general manager.
