Beaverfit adding to the Navy's strength
BeaverFit, Shropshire-based supplier of strength conditioning equipment, has provided its Warrior FTR rigs for use by elements of the British Navy.
The Senior Service is using the equipment to conduct a series of trials on both land and sea, with land-based HMS Temeraire, home to the Director of Naval Physical Development, and HMS Nelson, both in Portsmouth, involved. At sea, HMS Daring, an 8,000-tonne Type 45 guided missile destroyer, has similarly been fitted out.
Beaverfit managing director, Tom Beaver said: "Before the installation of BeaverFit rigs, much of the fitness training for personnel consisted of circuit training, aerobic activity and occasional forms of resistance training. "Our rigs will now bring more variety to the training sessions in which these individuals take part."
