Bella to open flagship Missouri site by 2006
Bella Media has announced it intends to open its flagship IMAX theatre in Missouri, USA, by 2006 through a sale and leaseback deal with Bass Pro and its subsidiary Bella Films.
The development of the theatre, which is located in Springfield on the 40-acre campus of Bass Pro Outdoor World complex, had previously suffered from several delays.
However, Bella Films has now entered into a Letter of Intent with Bass Pro which agrees in principal to begin the facility expansion in order to open the IMAX by spring 2006.
Bass Pro has also agreed a deal to finance and build the theatre then lease it back to Bella Films on a 30-year lease.
Bella Films will continue as the operator of the Springfield IMAX.
The Bass Pro complex will feature retail, education and entertainment facilities dedicated to the lifestyle and cultural aspects of outdoor sporting life.
