Berwick Holiday Park has beaten the 40 other UK holiday park sites within the Bourne Leisure group to win an annual learning and development award for staff training.

The winners – three Berwick department heads – will now go to Florida and participate in a Disney customer service programme.

All staff at the park have successfully completed their mandatory training in addition to undetaking a BTec Careerways programme for reception, holiday sales, complex and retail.

In addition, Berwick also operates a basic skills training programme on its site that enables staff to help those with special needs.

Aftersales and training manager at Berwick, Beverley Thompson, said: "We know this approach to training pays off – we have a superb development programme for everyone on the park and this has also led to a high retention level among our staff."
