Bexhill Colonnade contractor named
Rother District Council has named Kent-based Neilcott Construction - part of Walls Holdings - as lead contractors on a £3.5m refurbishment project in Bexhill, East Sussex.
Part of the Next Wave scheme to regenerate the town's seafront, the work will include the construction of a new rowing club boathouse, the creation of a new terraced open space adjacent to the De La Warr Pavilion, and the extension and refurbishment of the Grade II listed Colonnade on the town's West Parade. Rother District Council leader councillor Carl Maynard said: "For me this is the most exciting part of the seafront project. The new rowing club will stand the test of time and be a fantastic facility for youngsters from Bexhill and the wider area for some time to come."
The first phase of the Next Wave project - the landscaping and resurfacing of the West Promenade - is already underway, with completion expected in the autumn. The new work is expected to start in October, with a scheduled completion date of early summer next year. Work in progress on the West Promenade
