Bidders queue for Wembley

Philip Anschutz, the American leisure investor, has joined the line-up of potential buyers of Wembley Arena. The Arena and adjoining conference centre is expected to sell for around £60m. The sale comes at a time of uncertainty, with Wembley stadium's proposed improvements still depending upon financial assistance. If the developments to the stadium can be finalised, however, subsequent infrastructural improvements would increase the site value.
