Bike trail for Swindon
A new mountain bike trail has opened to the public in Croft Woods, Swindon.
The 1km Croft Community Cycle Trail will be owned and operated by the Swindon Borough Council and was financed by a National Lottery grant.
The construction involved volunteers from Nationwide Building Society as well the Probation Service, which was got involved in the project as part of its Community Payback Scheme.
Councillor Brian Mattock said: "This new facility will be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities and is an excellent example of achieving positive results through partnership working."
There are plans to extend the trail by another 5km so it can cater for more experienced mountain bikers.
