Birmingham hotel freehold owner in administration
Hyatt Regency Birmingham Limited, the freehold owner of the Hyatt Regency Birmingham Hotel located in the centre of the West Midlands city, has gone into administration.
Diana Frangou and Ian Best of Ernst and Young (EY) have been named joint administrators of the company, which has no connection to the Hyatt Hotels and Resorts group. The 319-room property is run by Hyatt Holdings (UK) - not in administration - as part of a management contract and it is anticipated there will be no impact on its operation.
Frangou said: "We have the full cooperation of Hyatt Holdings (UK) and will be working closely with them to ensure that it is business as usual while we seek a buyer for the hotel as a going concern." Facilities at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham Hotel include the Amala Spa and Club, which houses a Turkish Hammam and a private Hammam treatment room, as well as six therapy rooms.
