Black Army success at Youth Games
Cultural Community Partnerships (CCP), working on behalf of East Northamptonshire Council, provided the District Team for the Northamptonshire Youth Games organised by Northamptonshire Sport on Saturday 24 June at Kettering Leisure Village.
One hundred and thirty young people, coaches and teachers supported by many parents descended on the Games in their black shirts – which have earned the team the title "Black Army".
Although the ethos of both CCP and the local authority is participation and enjoyment first and foremost, success through sport by young people through their own enthusiasm and dedication must be acknowledged and this year the medal tally particularly Gold was higher than ever.
This reflected the quality of coaching received throughout the year from community sport coaches, sport specific development officers, local clubs and teachers from the School Sport Partnerships operating in the district. Details: www.culturalcommunitypartnerships.org.uk
