YogaSix responds to Pilates boom with launch of strength-focused Y6 Core class
YogaSix, the yoga brand owned by Fitness'>Xponential Fitness, has launched a heated, Pilates-inspired class called Y6 Core, as demand for strength-based, low-impact workouts continues to reshape the boutique fitness sector.
The move comes as Pilates continues to gain momentum globally, with operators responding to changing consumer preferences and the increasing popularity of workouts that combine strength, mobility and mindfulness.
Inspired by classical Pilates principles, including control, flow and intentional movement, Y6 Core combines yoga with strength and conditioning elements, using resistance bands, blocks and sliders to deepen muscular engagement and create an energising, sweat-driven experience.
The launch broadens the YogaSix proposition, giving members access to more strength-focused training while retaining the mindfulness and movement principles that underpin yoga.
“Y6 Core represents an exciting evolution for YogaSix,” said Veronica Najera, YogaSix vice president of Education. “Our members are looking for workouts that build strength, challenge endurance and still feel mindful and intentional.
“This class delivers all of that while staying true to our yoga roots.”
The move reflects a wider evolution within boutique fitness, as single-modality brands expand their Programming to increase member engagement, attract new audiences and respond to the growing convergence between yoga, Pilates and strength training.
YogaSix is part of Xponential Fitness, which also owns Club Pilates – the world’s largest Pilates franchise – as well as brands spanning barre, stretching, indoor cycling, boxing and strength.
The launch supports YogaSix’s continued Expansion into fitness-forward programming designed to give members more ways to train and appeal to consumers looking for hybrid modalities.
Founded in 2012, YogaSix has grown to become the largest franchised yoga brand in the US, with more than 200 studios.
The brand offers heated and non-heated yoga, strength-based and cardio-focused fitness classes and restorative formats.
Its six signature class formats are Y6 Restore, Y6 Slow Flow, Y6 Signature Hot and Warm, Y6 Power Flow, Y6 Core and Y6 Sculpt & Flow, alongside four specialty classes.
