Black Country Living Museum tops attractions poll
The Black Country Living Museum in Dudley has topped a poll to find the most 'wonder'-ful places to visit in the West Midlands.
The attraction triumphed over 26 other shortlisted landmarks in the Seven Wonders survey, which polled 13,000 people.
Other winners included the Severn Valley Railway, Warwick Castle and the Ironbridge Gorge Museum.
Director of the Black Country Living museum, Ian Walden, said: “We are delighted to have come out on top of this poll, which is particularly pleasing as it is a glowing endorsement from the public.
“To finish with more votes than so many other attractions proves our continuing popularity.”
Local historian Carl Chinn added: “I think the Seven Wonders poll has some great choices by the people of the West Midlands. Every wonder has huge regional significance and it is wonderful to see that so many people voted during the campaign.” Details: www.bclm.co.uk
