Black Watch museum reopens after £3.5m redevelopment
A museum honouring one of Scotland's most well known regiments is about to open following a £3.5m redevelopment.
The Black Watch museum at Balhousie Castle in Perth temporarily shut down last year and has since been refurbished with new visual and interactive technology, as well as having more space for displays for technology.
The project has seen an extension to the castle, which has provided increased display space and a larger area for exhibitions, as well as an improved shop and ticket office, accessible visitor facilities, a new tea room and improved parking facilities.
The main building and its galleries have also been heavily redeveloped.
The museum pays tribute to The Black Watch - an army regiment which has fought in some of the biggest conflicts over the past 300 years - including both world wars and most recently the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
