Blackburn Rovers confirms takeover talks
Blackburn Rovers Football Club (BRFC) has confirmed that it has held talks with representatives of Western Gulf Advisory (WGA) regarding a possible takeover deal.
In a statement, the Premier League club confirmed that there had been a "cordial and productive meeting" between officials and advisors and staff from the Bahrain-based company, founded by Ahsan Ali Syed. BRFC said the process was "ongoing" but Syed is reported to have told the Financial Times that a memorandum of understanding has now been signed and heads of terms agreed with the club.
Meanwhile, Arsenal Football Club (AFC) has launched a new initiative, which aims to give supporters an opportunity to have a greater say in how the Premier League club is run. A 'Fanshare' will be equivalent to one-hundredth of a share in Arsenal Holdings - AFC's parent company - and is currently valued at £95.
