Blackpool Tower set to host new amateur dance competition
Blackpool Tower is set to announce a new amateur dance competition to be held in its Ballroom.
Leisure Parcs, owner of Blackpool Tower, has been inundated with requests from the general public for the competition to take place at the attraction, which recently hosted BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The general manager of Blackpool Tower, Geoff Sage, said: “To have hosted some of the Strictly Come Dancing series has certainly been the jewel in the crown for us.
“Ballroom dancing has seen an increase in popularity and indeed has become very fashionable with people of all ages,” he added.
The competition will see contestants perform the jive, rumba, waltz or samba, while those who do not want to take part can experience the Tower Ballroom as spectators.
Entry information will be available early in the New Year.
