Blue Bombers confirm further delays to construction of new Winnipeg home
Winnipeg Blue Bombers will now play the entire 2012 Canadian Football League season at Canad Inns Stadium after further delays in constructing the new Investors Group Field.
Last month, the Canada-based American Football team said it will play the first five matches of the season its current home after pushing back the new stadium's opening to September.
However, Blue Bombers president and CEO Garth Buchko announced that "unpredictable weather at a critical stage of construction" had caused more delays to the team's relocation.
Buchko said: "Endeavouring to accelerate work to overcome weather disruptions, beyond what is reasonable and safe, will only create further delays along the way."
