Boost for paralympic athletes
UK Athletics, the British Paralympic Association and the UK Sports Institute have launched a new coaching programme.
Aimed at improving the UK's top disability track and field athletes, the scheme provides a tailored plan of coaching support from the UK Sports Institute coaching programme. 'The more coaches we are able to help, the more we will make a significant impact, and ensure our future Paralympians continue to win medals on the world stage,' said UK Athletics technical director for disability athletes, Ken Kelly.
The initiative will provide coaches with one-to-one needs analysis through mentoring and scholarship opportunities.
