Bouldering wall unveiled in Northumberland
A new bouldering wall has been officially opened to the public at Willowburn Sports and Leisure Centre in Northumberland.
Funded jointly by North Country Leisure (NCL), which operates the facility, and Northumberland County Council, the wall has been used by more than 700 people since it opened early in the new year.
Speaking at the official opening on 18 March, Councillor Isabel Hunter, Executive Member for Culture at Northumberland County Council, said, "Northumberland County Council has a long term commitment to improve sport and leisure opportunities in the district and the financial contribution we have made to this project is testament to this commitment. There has never been a better time for us to have invested in facilities for improving health and well being of the community."
Chris Horner, Chairman of the NCL North Northumberland Board, said: "The new facility is a fantastic addition to our sport and leisure provision for the community, offering customers of all ages an opportunity to benefit from the considerable investment for many years to come."
