Restaurants can now obtain Braille menus from Bristol-based company A2i Transcription Services.

A2i already supplies menus to 10 restaurants in Bristol, including Chez Gerard's.

Spokesperson for A2i, Susie Fisher, says: 'We recently conducted a survey, in which under eight per cent of the restaurants we contacted offered a Braille version of their menu.

'Our aim is to improve access to restaurants for visually impaired people.'

Restaurants using Braille menus will be able to use the Braille menu logo on their own material. They will also receive a window sticker and be added to A2i's web-based directory.
