Brand new beginnings
Basingstoke Sports Trust, which manages Basingstoke Sports Centre at Festival Place in Basingstoke, is entering the New Year with the launch of its new brand this month.
The charitable leisure trust, which has been established since 1970, has selected the new brand to better reflect its important values around providing professional sport and leisure services and excellent facilities for customers, which include mixed and ladies-only gyms boasting 186 stations.
As part of the new branding exercise, the website at www.sportscentre.org.uk is being given a fresh, new look and additional functionality with video clips of different activities to be found at the Centre and links to the Centre's Facebook page and You Tube channel. The website will be much easier to view on smart phones and tablets and there will be a regular blog keeping customers informed of all the latest news and events as well as providing tips on nutrition and exercise.
Customers and visitors will see the new brand rolled out over the next few months with the website and internal signage being the first things to be changed.
It's not all about how the Trust looks either. Recognising the importance of exercise adherence in meeting the many different goals that fitness customers have, the Trust is making a significant investment in its gym members. The Trust is employing five additional gym instructors, all highly qualified to REPS level 3, to ensure there are sufficient levels of staff to work with the 5000+ membership. In addition to this the Trust is working in partnership with world fitness supplier Technogym to deliver a number of tools to help members identify the type of training they want. Whether they are exercising in the gym or in classes, staff and members can work as a team to ensure individual goals and targets are met.
James Starbuck, Chief Executive, said: "this is a very exciting time for Basingstoke Sports Centre. I believe that we have the best sport and leisure facility in the Town and we must continue to work tirelessly on behalf of our customers to make sure that our offer to them is the best that it can be."
