British Sports Trust takes new name
Sports charity, The British Sports Trust, has unveiled a new name and identity to better promote its Sports Leader Awards.
The organisation, which will now be known as Sports Leaders UK, promotes and manages the Sports Leader Awards, which use sport to help people learn motivational, communication, teamwork and organisational skills and result in a recognised qualification.
Chief executive Linda Plowright, said: “We are working actively to increase opportunities for all members of the community to get involved in the Sports Leader Awards – through schools and colleges, youth and community groups, prisons and other organisations.
“We are determined to reach our target figure of 100,000 people engaged in the Sports Leader Awards scheme by 2007/8 and the new name, Sports Leaders UK – which says precisely what we do – will help us achieve this goal.” Details: www.sportsleaders.org
