Broadway musicians strike settled
The dispute between theatre owners and orchestra musicians which forced the closure of 18 musicals showing on Broadway has been settled.
An agreement was reached and shows have recommenced after New York's mayor, Michael Bloomberg, called both sides for talks with a mediator at Gracie Mansion, the mayor's official residence.
The dispute concerned the guaranteed number of musicians required in each theatre's orchestra pit. Both sides have agreed on a minimum figure of 18 to 19.
