Brown’s reopens following £20m revamp
Brown’s Hotel in London’s Mayfair has reopened following a £20m refurbishment with a special ceremony including special guest Lady Thatcher.
Part of the Rocco Forte Hotels group owned by Sir Rocco Forte, Brown’s has been closed since April 2004.
Renovations at the 117-room hotel – which includes 15 suites – were overseen by designer Olga Polizzi, Sir Rocco’s sister.
Brown’s restaurant will now be known as The Grill and be managed by executive chef Laurence Glayzer, previously of The Ritz and The Savoy Grill, and Maitre d’ Angelo Maresca.
Other key features of the revamped hotel include the English Tea Room, a 70sq m (750sq ft) gym and three spa treatment rooms. Details: www.brownshotels.com
