Bucharest plans water and amusement parks
District 3, the most populous ward in the Romanian capital, Bucharest, is likely to get a water park and an amusement park in Pantelimon Park – a public outdoor space.
The District 3 Council has approved contract specifications and the contract model for the project, which is mooted to cost somewhere in the region of €112m (US$127.4m, £99.5m).
The water park, according to the plans, will include various slides, a lazy river, children’s pools for various age groups and sunbeds, while the amusement park will feature zip lines, a rollercoaster and playgrounds.
The total build time will take around six months, according to local government documents, with an additional two months added in for design.
Bucharest has recently seen another amusement park open in Tei Park, in its District 2 region. However, the attraction only saw 10,000 visitors come through its doors in the first three months of 2018.
