Buckinghamshire launches new adventure activities trail
Buckinghamshire County Council is opening a new trail at the Outdoor Adventure centre at Green Park – home of the council’s Outdoor Adventure Education team – in Aston Clinton today (13 September).
The new activities include a climbing abseil tower with zip wire, a high ropes course incorporating a 'leap of faith' and 'peg pole with see-saw' as well as a wheelchair challenge course.
The new trail – suitable for all abilities and a wide age range – will allow more people to benefit from the existing learning, team-building and confidence boosting activities. Potential new users include schools, youth groups and the Scouts.
The Big Lottery Fund financed the £130,000 trail.
Cllr Margaret Dewar of the Community Services Group said: “These fantastic new resources will enhance facilities at Green Park, which are aimed at enabling young people to learn, achieve and develop through physical challenge. And the fact that wheelchair users will be able to fully participate is really exciting.” Details: www.buckscc.gov.uk
