Bumper year for Surrey CCC
Surrey County Cricket Club (SCCC) has announced pre-tax profits of more than £583,000 in its annual results for 2008.
The club also revealed that its annual turnover was nearly £24m, which was boosted by strong income streams generated by its conference and events business, as well as attracting a record number of members. SCCC chief executive Paul Sheldon said: "2009 will be greatly helped by both the npower Ashes series and the ICC World Twenty20, but in these times of economic uncertainty, our financial position cannot be taken for granted.
"I feel confident that the club has a management team and staff in place whose experience and dedication will see us through these difficult times."
