Butlins opens seaside resort hotel
Butlins opened its first ever resort hotel this week, the £10m Shoreline Hotel, at its Bognor Regis site.
Designed to look like a cruise liner, the 160-room property offers three grades of family accommodation including Nelson’s Staterooms, which include reserved parking and telescopes so guests can look out to sea.
Designed by Hampshire-based architects PWP, the hotel took a year to build and is the first of three planned resort hotels.
Similar properties are expected to open at Butlins’ Minehead and Skegness sites, depending on the success of the Shoreline.
The three Butlins resorts, which are owned by Bourne Leisure, jointly welcome more than 1.3 million guests a year.
The Shoreline, which opened on 17 August, boasts an English bistro restaurant and a cocktail bar as well as conference and meetings facilities for up to 2,000 delegates. Details: www.butlins.com
