C$200m green resort to launch in Canada
A C$200m (US$205.4m, 144.7m euro, £100m) condominium-hotel property with a large spa is to be built in British Columbia, Canada.
Due to open in 2009, the Wyndansea Oceanfront Golf Resort will be developed by Marine Drive Properties and will be situated in the Long Beach area of Vancouver Island. The spa will be a key amenity within the resort and will probably be included in the hotel management agreement.
Design features at the environmentally sustainable resort will include renewable energy systems such as seawater geothermal exchanges and tidal power, and LEED sustainable design practices will be used for the entire resort.
