CCC unveils War Memorial Park consultation
Coventry City Council (CCC) has launched a new consultation exercise for local residents to suggest what should be included in a new play site for the city's War Memorial Park.
Members of the public are being asked by the council how they use the park and play area and what should be done to provide a facility that is able to meet the needs of the community. The proposed play area will focus on a natural play approach to use the landscape of the park and traditional equipment to encourage children to play in a more "imaginative" way.
Funding for the War Memorial Park improvements has been contributed by the Heritage Lottery Fund, BIG Lottery Fund and the government's Playbuilder initiative. CCC is also supporting the Friends of the War Memorial Park's bid for funding through the Changing Spaces initiative, some of which will go towards the play area.
