Spa training organisation, Comité International d'Esthétique et de Cosmétologie (CIDESCO) has announced the addition of two more diplomas to its portfolio of world-renowned qualifications – the Spa Therapy Diploma and the Beauty and the Media Make-up Diploma.

These two courses join another CIDESCO spa management course announced last month, the Post Graduate Beauty & Spa Management Diploma, as part of an encouraging training push. The diplomas aim to provide recipients with a qualification that will be recognised and respected worldwide and will enable them to stand out in what CIDESCO describes as an increasingly competitive skills market.

The Spa Therapy Diploma permits candidates to obtain a qualification in spa therapy without the prerequisite of a qualification in beauty therapy. CIDESCO says it recognised the need for a stand-alone qualification for anyone who wants to pursue a career in the spa industry. The former prerequisite of a qualification was a barrier for the growing number of students keen to enter the expanding industry.

The Media Make-up Diploma teaches students who have a passion for creative make-up how to apply cosmetics for television, film, catwalk, theatre productions, prosthetics and fashion industry magazines.

“The introduction of our new diplomas will open up careers in the beauty and spa industry to a great many more people whilst still maintaining standards,” said CIDESCO’s president Anna-Cari Gund.

Other CIDESCO diplomas include the beauty therapy diploma; post graduate beauty therapy diploma – available to qualified therapists with a minimum of three year’s professional experience; post graduate spa diploma; post graduate aromatherapy diploma; and the post graduate electrical electrical epilation diploma.
