Caernarfon revamp proposals unveiled
Local residents and businesses in Caernarfon, North Wales, have been given the chance to comment on a proposed revamp of the town centre, which could include upgraded pedestrian access routes.
European Union funding has been secured by Gwynedd Council to help fund the scheme, which could feature improvements to Pool Street's streetscape and improvements to the town's bus station at Poolside. Council officials and representatives from consultancy firm Gillespies were on hand to answer questions as part of two drop in sessions held on 16 and 17 October, while workshops will also be held with community groups to help shape the proposals.
Gwynedd Council leader Dyfed Edwards said: "We are confident that improvements to the townscape will contribute to the vitality and viability of the town centre and strengthen investor confidence." Initial designs are expected to go public display in November.
