Cambridge theatre appeal
The oldest university playhouse in Britain, built in 1855, has launched a refurbishment funds appeal.
Famous for former members such as Peter Cook, Emma Thompson and the Prince of Wales, the ADC Theatre in Cambridge is asking for funds in order to carry out a programme of works before the theatre's 150th anniversary in 2005.
The appeal is for £1.6m and plans include dressing room showers and a lift for easy wheelchair access.
