Cape Kidnappers golf course to open in January

A new private golf course called Cape Kidnappers is to open on a Pacific Ocean promontory near Napier on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island.

The 5,000-acre property, situated between Auckland and Wellington in the vineyard area of Hawke’s Bay, is being developed by the owner of one of New Zealand’s most prestigious golf courses, Kauri Cliffs, who also plans to add a luxury lodge to the site.

The course has been designed by Tom Doak – who also designed the Kauri Cliffs course and the Pacific Dunes course on the Oregon coast – and is scheduled to open in January.
