Cape Town's Maze Restaurant to open early
Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's new Maze restaurant in Cape Town, South Africa, is expected to open a month early on 4 April, as part of the new OneandOnly resort on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
Scheduled to initially open in May 2009, the restaurant would be the fourth in the Maze portfolio accompanying sites at London's Marriott Grosvenor Square hotel, New York and Prague. A fifth site is expected to launch in Melbourne, Australia, in February 2010 under the management of Gordon Ramsay Holdings. The 140-cover Maze Cape Town restaurant will join the debut of Nobu, a Japanese restaurant group, in the Africa at the 131-room OneandOnly resort, expected to fully open in September 2009.
The resort will also include two landscaped islands, one featuring 40 suites and the other a 1,200sq m (3,937sq ft) spa with 11 treatment rooms, sauna and steamrooms, two 18sq m (59sq ft) vitality pools and full-service salon. The will also be a 200sq m (656sq ft) Technogym-equipped fitness suite and a infinity edge pool. Details: www.oneandonlyresorts.com
