Carlson and Rezidor complete sale of Regent hotel business
Hospitality company Carlson and the Rezidor Hotel Group have completed the sale of their Regent luxury hotel business to Formosa International Hotels Corporation (FIHC). The companies announced a master purchase agreement on 16 April.
Carlson's portfolio comprises more than 1,080 hotels, including Radisson, Country Inns & Suites By Carlson, Park Inn and Park Plaza; more than 1,000 restaurants, including T.G.I. Friday's and Pick Up Stix; and a majority stake in Carlson Wagonlit Travel. The company operates in more than 150 countries. The Rezidor group has over 390 hotels in operation and under development in more than 60 countries. Brands include Radisson Blu Hotels & Resorts, Regent Hotels & Resorts, Park Inn and Country Inns & Suites in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Under a licensing agreement it also operates and develops the new Hotel Missoni lifestyle brand.
FIHC owns its flagship Grand Formosa Regent Taipei, with 538 rooms, eight restaurants, and 5,000sq m of banqueting space. The hotel also has a luxury shopping area featuring more than 25 flagship stores such as Chanel, Hermes, Cartier, Dior, Prada and Harry Winston. FIHC also operates the lifestyle hotel brand SILKS and various restaurant brands throughout China.
