Cash for Tramway Museum
The National Tramway Museum, is to triple the size of its library thanks to lottery funding. The Heritage Lottery Fund has awarded almost £1m to the £1.3m project to extend the attraction's library and research facilities with the Designation Challenge Fund and the Museums' own resources meeting the balance.
Internationally recognised as the repository for archives on urban transport, much of the museum's collection is currently housed off-site. The extension meets the museums anticipated storage need for the next 20 years.
