Casino to open at Sheffield's 'Cheesegrater'
A new casino and two restaurants will form part of a new leisure complex scheduled to open at Sheffield city centre's iconic "Cheesegrater" building in autumn this year.
The 35,000sq ft (3,252sq m) Genting Club will be split over two floors and will be Genting's first venue in Yorkshire. The complex will be located beneath the site's existing car park.
A gaming floor is set to accommodate a number of casino games and gaming machines at the new casino, while a purpose-built room will host poker seven days a week.
The main restaurant will be called Fahrenheit and the second will be an Asian-inspired eatery. Other new facilities will include a late night bar and a champagne bar.
Paul Willcock, managing director for Genting UK's provincial estate, said: "Sheffield is a hugely vibrant city and we believe there is space in the market for a new and complete leisure offering."
