Glasgow's Celtic Park, the UK's biggest football stadium, has beat both the Commonwealth Games stadium and the Millennium Stadium to be voted the UK's favourite sports building by the British public.
Celtic Park was awarded the Best-Loved Sporting Building Award for the simplicity of its design, easy access and its exhilarating atmosphere in a competition held by the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) and BBC Radio Five Live.
'Celtic Park is an iconic symbol in Glasgow and a prime example of how stadia can be improved over time,' says Jon Rouse, chief executive of CABE. Runners up were Cardiff's Millennium Stadium and Lord's Cricket Ground. Details: +44 (0)20 7419 7000
