Cendant Europe is opening three hotels – in Dundee, Derby County Cricket Ground and west Birmingham – taking its UK portfolio to 28 sites.

The new-build Days Hotel Derby, developed by Kew Green Hotels, opened in July and becomes the UK’s third Days Hotel-branded property. Serving Derby County Cricket Ground it offers 100 bedrooms, a restaurant, meeting room and work zone rooms. The adjacent Virgin Active fitness centre offers special rates for hotel guests.

The budget sector Days Inn in Dundee has 68 rooms, bar, restaurant and meeting room. Developed by Pygmalion Properties, the hotel, which also opened in July, is operated by Just Hotels.

The Days Hotel Birmingham West (formerly the Howard Johnson West Bromwich), has 133 rooms, five meeting rooms and a café and will be re-launched in August. The site has been developed with BIC Hotels.

A further 10 Days Inn and Days Hotels are expected to open by the end of this year, including the Days Hotel South Ruislip, London, which opens in September. Details: www.daysinn.com
