Central YMCA slam dunks challenge to the world!
YMCA members from around the world are being invited to take part in a YMCA World Record attempt in basketball.
Through their local YMCA, participants from around the globe have an opportunity to shoot hoops at the same time on the morning of the Olympic Basketball Final at the London 2012 games.
The aim is to get at least two million people involved, from among 45 million current YMCA members.
National YMCAs from some 85 countries have already pledged their support for the World Record attempt.
"Basketball was invented by the YMCA and it's fitting that we will be using the sport to unite globally and showcase our work and impact," says David Thompson, Chief Operating Officer at Central YMCA.
Central YMCA, based in London, is leading the campaign on behalf of the global YMCA Movement.
"We want you to be a part of this global event," says David. "It's easy, simply register your interest either through facebook 'YMCA World Record2012 or visit the web address below."
